5 Star Restaurant

If you ever get to Portugal and you want a meal that will leave you begging for more, you MUST try out O Forno in Vila Real. On the outside, attached to a gas station, it appears to be a stop gap on a long road to Spain. However, when you go in, if the views and atmosphere don't blow you away, the food definitely will. The owner greeted us and tended to our ever whim (and believe me we are a rowdy picky bunch.) He was charming, entertaining and well educated. The only way the meal could have been any more perfect woud have been if I could have convinced him to come back to the US and become my personal chef. Although a bit out of the way, I would never return to Portugal without making a stop at O Forno.
